The GEA project will be dynamized, for the third consecutive year, a garbage collection walk at Ria Formosa, within the 5th edition of PLOGGING CHALLENGE PORTUGAL, promoted by PLOGGING Santa Maria da Feira. This year’s initiative will take place in Olhão, next Sunday, March 30, with a meeting point scheduled for 9:30, next to the campsite. The route will follow along the Ecovia to Cavacos Beach, where the action will culminate with a coexistence picnic.
The Gea project challenges the entire community to participate – individually, in family or friends – and to actively contribute to the preservation of the Ria Formosa ecosystem, promoting an environmentally sustainable future. Given that the initiative coincides with the International Day of Zero Waste, participants are invited, optionally, to bring something that promotes waste reduction to the coexistence picnic at the end of the walk.

Although this walk will take place in the leventy Algarve, several other PLOGGING actions will take place through the Algarve and the country between March 30 and April 30. Those who cannot participate in this initiative can follow or find similar events on the Facebook page of Plogging Santa Maria da Feira.
Alternatively, the GEA project and the Santa Maria da Feira PLOGGING encourage individual people, community movements, organizations or entities to mobilize their communities and organize their own plogging event.
