The Cândido Guerreiro Vocational School, located in Alte, in the municipality of Loulé, continues to assert itself as a reference educational institution in the interior of the Algarve, playing a key role in the formation of youth and adults. Founded in 1992, the school aims to contribute to individual and community development, seeking to “educate to transform lives” through training programs that integrate technical, scientific and social components.
The institution is distinguished by its commitment to the quality of education and inclusion, ensuring that all students have free access to training, support of school social action and free school transportation. For the school, the goal is to train qualified professionals and conscious citizens, promoting innovative educational paths that potentiate the school and professional success of students.
Strong connection to the labor market
One of Cândido Guerreiro’s surplus vocational value is its connection to the local and regional business fabric, allowing students to perform curriculum internships and participate in national and European projects. This practical experience ensures a more efficient transition to the job market, preparing students to the challenges of their future careers.
In addition, the school promotes study visits, workshops and community initiatives, facilitating contact with different professional realities and encouraging the exchange of knowledge. This formative model reinforces the development of essential skills, allowing students to apply the knowledge acquired in real contexts.
Commitment to quality and certification
The Cândido Guerreiro Vocational School is proud to put “the quality of training at the center of its strategy”. It was the first school in the Algarve region to implement the quality guarantee system aligned with EQAVET, the European Reference Framework for Quality Guarantee for Education and Vocational Training. Since 2021, the school has been certified with the quality guarantee seal in education and vocational training, assigned by the National Agency for Qualification and Vocational Education (ANQEP).
