The Kremlin insists on the abolition of sanctions against Russian banks and connections to the Swift system as a condition of renewal of the cereal agreement.

The Kremlin stressed on Tuesday after concluding an agreement on the Black Sea that, before entering into force, sanctions against Russian banks involved in international grocery and fertilizer trade must be lifted. According to TASS and BBC, TASR reports this.

The United States, Russia and Ukraine agreed on Tuesday after separate negotiations in R The US will also help to restore Russia’s access to the world market in the field of exports of agricultural products and fertilizers, reduce naval insurance costs and improve access to ports and payment systems for such transactions. The parties also confirmed the agreement on non -compliance on energy equipment.

“The abolition of sanction restrictions against the Russian agricultural bank and other financial institutions involved in supporting transactions in international grocery trade (including fish products) and fertilizers, their connection to the SWIFT system and opening the required correspondence accounts,” says TASS.

According to the BBC, this means in practice that sanctions against Russian banks, food producers and food exporters, as well as insurance companies that are involved in their exports, must be abolished before the ceasefire.

The United States did not mention in published joint statements on Russian conditions. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greenable at a press conference expressed the belief that the ceasefire was valid immediately.

The Kremlin also stated that Russia will not return to the cereal agreement concluded in 2022 unless the sanctions are abolished to Russian ships and the supply of agricultural machines.
