Six teenagers died After drowning last weekend in two cities of western Bahia. The body of one of them was found by fishermenon the morning of Tuesday (25).
This case happened in the city of Angical, on Sunday (23). When two friends, one 15 and one 16, swam in a stretch of Rio Grande, and began to drown. According to the Fire Department, a resident would have seen the situation and tried to rescue them, But it was unsuccessful.
Pedro Edson Alves Porto was found on the same day. Pedro Henrique de Souza Lima was only located after more than one day of search.
The other four victims are from the same family and died on the São Francisco River, in a stretch of Barra municipality, also Sunday in Western Bahia. According to witnesses, they were playing when one began to drown. In an attempt to help, the others drowned too.
The city hall issued a note of regret lamenting the loss of students who were part of the municipal school system and were between 12 and 16 years old.
They were identified as Ayxa Adrielle de Souza da Silva; David Francisco dos Santos da Silva; JARDELLE ALVES DA SILVA; Kauã dos Santos da Silva.
In an interview with CNNLieutenant Kleber Rocha of the Fire Department said that it is always necessary to pay attention when entering Rio, due to the current and cloudy water that makes it difficult to see the bottom.
“They have been very striking drowning, but the care I quote are always the same. If you do not know how to swim or know the region, never enter alone in the water. And if you are helping, look for a float, as a float, because the victim usually pulls and seeking support, which ends up increasing the number of victims if you do not have a support,” he said.
