Members of the Ukrainian and American delegation attended a short meeting on Tuesday in Riyadh. All the details of it will be announced later, the Ukrainian source told AFP, which shortly before announced the beginning of Ukrainian-American negotiations, writes TASR.
Negotiations between Ukrainian and American representatives took place after the Russian-American meeting, which was also held in Riyadh and, according to the media, lasted 12 hours, but did not bring any notice of ceasefire.
The Kremlin later said on Tuesday that the content of Russia’s interviews with the US would not be published and that their results were still analyzing. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that contacts with Washington will continue, but the specific date of the next meeting was not determined.
Russian news agencies reported on Tuesday night that Russia and the US are planning to issue a joint statement on the results of the interviews.
They talked about everything
A member of the Russian delegation in Riyadh, a long-time Russian diplomat Grigorij Karasin in an interview with TASS, said that during the 12-hour marathon negotiations with the US delegation “spoke about everything”.
“It was an intense dialogue, not easy, but very useful for us and Americans,” Karasin told TASS, adding that many problems have been discussed.
“Of course, we were far from solving everything, we have not aggravated at all points, but it seems that this type of discussion is very topical,” he said, saying that Russia and the US negotiations will continue with the participation of the international community, including the UN and the individual states.
Both Russia and Ukraine are escalating ground attacks
Negotiations in Riyadh were held at a time when both Russia and Ukraine are escalating their ground attacks. Kiev said on Tuesday that his air defense units had destined 78 out of 139 drones released over the territory of Ukraine by the Russian army.

In early March, Kiev agreed with the unconditional ceasefire to the proposed US, but Moscow rejected it without meeting its requirements. This was followed by the reaction of Ukraine and its European allies who accused Russia of not wanting peace.
