Banco de Portugal (BDP) issued another warning on Wednesday about an entity not authorized to operate in the financial sector in Portugal. The referred entity is the one that operates through the accessible site at the address “https://qub-agencia.com/ “, which does not have the necessary permission to perform financial activities reserved to institutions supervised by Banco de Portugal.
Reserved financial activities
Banco de Portugal clarifies that the credit concession activity is reserved only to duly qualified entities.
The legislation in force, namely Decree-Law No. 298/92 of 31 December, which establishes the general regime of credit institutions and financial companies, clearly determines in article 10 that the granting of credit can only be carried out by entities with legal authorization to do so.
“The activity of granting credit, provided for in paragraph 1 (b) of article 4 of the General Regime of Credit Institutions and Financial Companies, is reserved for entities legally qualified for this purpose,” the supervisor undermines in a statement.
