President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) announced, during the closing speech of the Brazil Business Forum-Japan, the sale of 15 aircraft from Embraer’s E-120 model to All Nippon Airways (ANA), one of Japan’s main airlines.
The contract, which can be extended to up to 20 aircraft to the Japanese company, is equivalent to approximately R $ 10 billion in investments from the Asian company in Brazilian aviation, according to Brazilian Ports and Airports Minister Silvio Costa Filho.
According to this, this commercial work between the government and Embraer has been “important and strategic” for the strengthening of national aviation.
In addition, Silvio also commented on the government’s intention to expand international markets for national aviation to sell assets to other countries.
Second, the sale of aircraft is an important step for Brazil to work in markets in other countries.

Another important point of negotiations with the Asian country was a cooperation agreement that allows Japanese aviation companies to travel directly to Brazil. According to the minister, flights of this type have not happened for 14 years.
Green fuel
According to the minister, there was advances in a SAF cooperation agreement, a green biofuel, made through ethanol, which Japanese airlines were interested.
Also according to Silvio, Brazil tends to be a major exporter of biofuel.
He also commented on the plan that aims to make 10% of all Japanese fuel composed of ethanol.
