Eli Wiesel once said: “What hurts the victims is not the cruelty of the executioners, but the silence of the spectators.”
We condemn in the most energetic way the brutal attacks that, in recent days, by the extremist government of Benjamin Netanyahu, which refuses to implement the terms of the high the fire agreement promoted by the US administration of Donald Trump. What is even more amazing is that these attacks have occurred with the approval and protection of the United States. And he has chosen the path of continuing with genocide, war and bloodshed. He is sacrificing the lives of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians, as well as the lives of Israeli hostages retained in the strip by the radical organization Hamas. The Israeli government is deepening the hell that both peoples are living in this region.
We go to all humanity, which inhabits planet Earth with its seven continents, 196 countries and 7,000 million people. We call to save our planet restoring the authority of international institutions, treaties, courts and international law as the standard of relations between nations. Otherwise, we head towards a cruel world, without law, that chooses violence over dialogue, where the forts take advantage of the weak and the only logic is the logic of force.
The silence in the face of the horrendous murders in Gaza, deprived of food, water, medicines and electricity, adds to a destruction of the evident territory with the naked eye, therefore it is a crime of war and against humanity. The silence about what happens in the West Bank, the displacement of tens of thousands of citizens and the murder of thousands in inhuman conditions; All this encourages the occupation to continue with this policy, which is destroying the dream of peace between the two peoples.
We call on all the media, both visual and sound, and social networks, with all our love for freedom and democracy, including intellectuals and celebrities, each from their position and capacity, to raise their voice for truth, justice and equality, and to reject the aggression and massacres that have civilians as a goal.
Those who have lost their children in this bloody conflict are those who have paid the highest price. Two of us, Bassam Aramin and Rami Elhanan, we lost our daughters: Abeer, 10, and Smadar, 14. Both in the hands of the Israeli occupation. We have thousands of people from all over the world, honorable and free. We call to demand that all countries and governments follow the example of Spain, Ireland, Norway, Poland and other countries and to achieve peace between the two peoples, thus slowing the expansionist colonial policies of the extremist Israeli government.
The time has come for the Palestinian people to achieve their right to self -determination and establish their state in their own land, in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations and international legitimacy.
We also call the US President Donald Trump, whose statements have encouraged us by expressing their intention to put an end to wars and conflicts, and recognize the state of Palestine.
In the name of more than 800 Palestinian and Israeli families, members of the Duel Families Forum, we demand the release of all Hamas Hostages and the release of the large number of innocent Palestinian prisoners of the prisons of the Israeli government. The end of all forms of violence and war, and the return to dialogue and negotiations to end the conflict between the two peoples.
We call that the power of truth exceeds the power of strength and arrogance among peoples in resolving conflicts. The children of Palestine and Israel have the right to live safely a bright future.
