NGO linked to Atletico-MG has initiatives in sports, from football to ping-pong, and even music school
NGO linked to Atletico-MG, says it impact 200,000 a year with social projects it develops. The organization says it is willing to encourage other clubs to do the same, according to Henrique Muzzi, NGO Communication and Marketing Director.
“Today, we are the largest institution of the 3rd sector in Brazilian sport, reference for other clubs. There can be no competition in the 3rd sector. We received Ceará, and if Cruzeiro or America want to know the project, we are open doors. We want to pull the clubs to grow with us.”said Muzzi ao Poder360.
Projects and Actions
The institute conducts 11 projects in different mining cities. Among the main ones is the school of the future, which serves children and adolescents with the practice of football in Belo Horizonte and other municipalities in the interior. Participants receive uniforms and boots and have social and psychological assistance. “It is important to emphasize that the capture of athletes is unrelated to Atletico. The institute is 100% independent of the club”said Muzzi.
Other projects include the Pong Rooster, focused on ping-pong, and a music school. There are also English classes, open to the local community. “Last year [2024]we visited day care centers, schools and hospitals, as well as promoting collection campaigns ”reported the Director of Communication and Marketing.
Financing and challenges
Projects are funded by incentive laws, while actions depend on the 113 club, a NGO group that has more than 390 members contributing monthly. There is no money passed directly by Atletico-MG. “We make auctions of shirts and medals to complement the collection“Muzzi said.
The main challenge is to maintain the financing. “It is easy to sell bad news, but it is difficult to sell good news and even more to keep the donors. We need to show that this donation saves lives.”
Impact and future
In 2023 in 2024, the institute claims to have impacted 200,000 people in Minas Gerais. The NGO wants to keep the average by 2025, with 153 actions.
“If each club in the series was impacted half of this, we would be talking about 2 million people benefited“Muzzi said. With the goal of increasing the number of members of the 113 club, the forecast is to reach half a million people in 10 years. The institute also seeks to influence other clubs.
Rooster Institute accounts are audited annually. “In the last year, the audit was done by BDO and the results are published in a magazine”complete muzzi.
