Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil-GO) and Mauro Mendes (União Brasil-MT) say that states suffer from the federal government locks
The governors of Goiás, (União Brasil), and Mato Grosso, (União Brasil), said this Wednesday (26.mar.2025) that the excess bureaucracy in bidding has directly impacted the country’s investment deficit in infrastructure. The speeches were during participation in the opening panel of the event CNN Talks.
Caiado stated that the bureaucracy is “unbearable” And that your government has sought alternatives to circumvent processes and streamline the execution of works and investments. One of these strategies is the hiring of OSCs (Civil Society Organization) to play some projects and flexible bids of up to R $ 50 million.
The Goian Governor stated that such an excess placed Brazil as the worst country in terms of investment in infrastructure among the BRIC members. According to Caiado, the Union Court of Audit (TCU) has already acknowledged that Brazil can face a collapse of its transport infrastructure if the pace of investments in the sector below 2% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is maintained.
Mauro Mendes insisted on the difficulties created by specific bureaucracies in environmental licensing. The Mato Grosso Governor stated that the Senate is being “coward” By not voting a PL (bill) that flexes the environmental licensing processes that has been approved for 2 years in the House of Representatives.
Mendes said processes that depend on federal authorities are those that frustrate the governors.
It also cited the status of the iron -enhanced iron that intends to connect Sinop (MT) to Miritituba (PA). Said the project is environmentally sustainable and will increase the efficiency of the state’s crop flow, but that it remains in court for being “Captured by a contrary narrative” to the interests of the state.
