Base Naim, senior authority of Hamas, said people had the right to protest against the suffering inflicted by war, but criticized what he said were “suspicious political agendas” exploring the situation.
“Where they are, what is happening in?” He said. “Why don’t they protest against aggression there or not allow people to take to the streets to denounce this aggression?”
The comments, which reflect the tensions between the Palestinian factions about the future of Gaza, were made several hours after the rival Fatah movement called Hamas to “respond to the appeal of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip”.
