Hamdan Bilal, one of the filmmakers of the documentary “No Other Land”, who beat Oscar for the best documentary this year, was released by the Israeli police in Kyriat Arba’s colonist in the occupied West Bank.
Bilal was accused by the Israeli authorities of participating in an attack on “Israeli citizens”, in which he is described by the non-governmental “Jewish center for nonviolence” organization as an attack by dozens of settlers, aiming at Bilal’s home. The director and photographer was with his wife, minor children and other members of his family to break the fast of Ramadão, when the first settlers arrived.
The NGO Jewish Center for nonviolence has distributed images in which it sees itself as a group of men, many of them with a covered face, attack a vehicle with stones and push at least one person.
