Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who became a defendant on Wednesday (26) for crimes against the democratic order, commented the decision of the First Class of the Supreme Federal Court (STF). In a post at X, as soon as the court reached a majority to make him a defendant, he called the judgment on the STF “legal attack on democracy” and said the ministers try to prevent him from “reaching the elections” of 2026.

“It seems that there is something personal against me and the accusations are serious and unfounded,” said Bolsonaro, in a statement alongside his son and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) and allies.
“The blow has people, but has a troop, weapons and has leadership. Two years of investigation and did not find out who, perhaps, would be this leader. I saw yesterday, I watched today, Mr. Alexandre de Moraes say that they signed ANPP (agreement of non -criminal prosecution) and that in the agreement these people admitted that they were in a blow.
During the speech about the decision of the STF’s first class to make him a defendant for attempted coup, the former president again made accusations against the electronic ballot boxes.
Seven Bolsonaro allies also became defendants for coup attempt:
- Alexandre Ramagem, former director of ABIN;
- Almir Garnier, former Navy Commander;
- Anderson Torres, former Minister of Justice;
- Augusto Heleno, former GSI minister;
- Paulo Sérgio Nogueira, former Minister of Defense;
- Braga Netto, former minister of the Bolsonaro Civil House;
- Mauro Cid, former presidential orders of the presidency.
