The president of Ukraine, last night accused Russia of “manipulating” and “twisting” the respective, capital of Saudi Arabia, to suspend attacks against energy infrastructure and ensure free navigation in the Black Sea.
“Ukraine is prepared to work quickly and absolutely transparently as possible to end the war. But, unfortunately, right now, today, on the same day of negotiations, we see how Russians have already begun to manipulate,” Zelenski said in his night message.
“They are already trying to twist the agreements and deceive our mediators and everyone,” Zelenski said in reference to Russia.
The Ukrainian president said that the communications published by the White House as a result of the separated meetings between US and Ukrainian emissaries and among the representatives of Washington and Moscow are “absolutely clear.”
But Russia, according to Zelenski, “lies” about the conditions related to free navigation in the Black Sea and on the date – March 18 – at the beginning of the high to fire on attacks on energy infrastructure.
More specifically, Zelenski reproached for Russia to link that navigation to the sanctions that weigh on Russia for their invasion to Ukraine. “Moscow always lies,” said Ukrainian President.
“Moscow always lies”
“It depends on the world, and on those who really want peace, if Moscow will be allowed to lie again,” Zelenski added in a message in which he assured that his country will strive that the agreements work and that there are no attacks.
“But the Russians must know and should realize: if they attack there will be a strong response” and “they will carry responsibility,” said the president of Ukraine, who alluded to the availability of kyiv to reach the high fire of which – to his understanding – Moscow he lacks.
“I want to remind you that since March 11, the United States proposal of a high full and unconditional fire has been on the table -in everywhere -not only in terms of energy and in the Black Sea. It was Russia that did not access it,” Zelenski said.
“If Russians later tell stories that attacks were not against energy or civil infrastructure, everyone will see it,” warned the Ukrainian head of state.
Russia and Ukraine committed themselves on Tuesday, after three days of negotiations separately with the United States in Riyadh, to suspend attacks against their energy infrastructure and ensure free navigation in the black Sea, but for the application of the truce both parties still impose a series of conditions.
