Donald Tusk, Prime Minister Polish, met with Mark Rutte, Secretary-General of the Alliance in Warsaw
It is crucial that NATO maintains its commitment to defend Poland in any situation, asked Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Wednesday. The statements were made at a press conference in Warsaw after a meeting with Mark Rutte, the NATO Secretary-General.
“Reaffirming the commitment that NATO is required to defend Poland in any critical situation is very important to us,” said Tusk.
According to Reuters, the Polish head of government has also assured that US representatives have repeatedly emphasized that they will always be ready to defend Poland and NATO’s remaining member states in a threat situation.
Beside his side, Rutte confirmed that the alliance is ready to defend the allies, ensuring that any attack will be received with “all the strength of this fierce covenant.”
“Our reaction will be devastating,” said Rutte. “This has to be very clear for Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and anyone else who wants to attack us.”
