Interestingly, the first mention of Oxymel comes from antiquity. This mixture was described, among others, by the elder who lived at the turn of the second and the first century BC.
This product is prepared primarily from honey and apple cider vinegar. However, there are regulations taking into account other healthy ingredients, such as garlic, turmeric, ginger, thyme or nettle.
Extremely healthy oxymel You can prepare yourself at home. One of the recipes for this drink shared Author of the YouTube channel called “Intuitive gardening – Permacultura TV”. The recipe includes not only honey and apple cider vinegar, but also the leaves of young nettle.
To make the base itself (oxymel without the addition of nettle) you will need the mentioned honey and apple cider vinegar (1 portion of honey per 3 portions of apple cider vinegar). The amount of nettle leaves is selected in such a way that after putting them in the jar, they occupy about a third of its capacity. Before that, however, these leaves should be washed, dried and chopped into smaller parts. Mix everything properly in a jar, then close and place in the fridge for around 4 weeks. It is worth pulling a jar every two or three days and lightly shake it.
