The White House National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz, said Tuesday that assumes the “full responsibility” of military on Military Operations against Yemen.
“I assume full responsibility. I created the group. It is shameful. We are going to get to the bottom of the matter,” Waltz said in a television program on the chain in which his first public statements have been since the news was made public.
When asked about whether a member of his staff was responsible for adding the chief editor of the magazine Jeffrey Goldberg, Waltz has asserted that his work is to make sure “that everything is coordinated.”
On the other hand, he has suggested that the journalist could have appeared “deliberately” in the group that included high positions of the administration of Donald Trump, although he has not presented evidence in this regard: “Now, we are trying to determine if he did it deliberately or if it occurred for some other technical reason.”
In this regard, he indicated that Trump’s cabinet is “reinforcing” his position and for this he has “the brightest technological minds” that are “analyzing how this has happened.” He also stated that “there are journalists who have knead fame and fortune and who are trying to discredit this president.”
According to The AtlanticWaltz created at the beginning of the month a group in which the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth were; the vice president, JD Vance; the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio; the National Intelligence Director, Tulsi Gabbard; and the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), John Ratcliffe.
These talked about the attacks against the Hutis rebels in Yemen, apparently without realizing the presence of the journalist. The documentation overturned in the group included details about the weapons used, the objectives and the scheduled schedule of the attack, as Goldberg himself has revealed, although Hegseth denied having sent “war plans” through that group.
