Vegetable with ham This is the perfect dish for the Easter table or party. Such a salad can also be eaten for dinner. It is very nutritious, creamy and delicate in taste, but with a very noticeable, acidic note. Its great advantage is the ability to modify and add virtually any vegetables that you will find in the fridge – leek, kohlrabi, pepper or corn will work great here. To prepare this salad, you will need:
- 500 g of potatoes,
- 500 g of good quality smoked ham,
- 200 g of canned peas,
- 2 canned cucumbers,
- 1 average carrot,
- 200 ml of mayonnaise,
- 50 ml of vinegar,
- 2 teaspoons of salt,
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper.
Peel the potatoes and carrots and cut into smaller pieces. Put them in a pot with a teaspoon of salt and cook until tender. Strain and cool. Cut the vegetables into small cubes and transfer to a salad bowl. Cut the cucumbers and ham into a similar size and add it to vegetables. Drain the peas from the pickle and also add it to the bowl.
Add mayonnaise to vegetables and ham. Mix the whole well, then add some vinegar, costing from time to time. The salad should be slightly sour, but it depends on individual preferences.
Season with the remaining salt and pepper to taste. When the ham salad is well mixed, put the bowl in the fridge for at least an hour to make the flavors combine.
Keep the dish in the fridge, in a tight container or bowl under cover. Use within 3 days.
