Republican President’s government report praises biometrics and criticizes voting in the United States
The President of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican), signed on Tuesday (25.mar.2025) a decree with praise to the Brazilian electoral system that alters electoral rules of the country in an offensive to demand that voters prove to be US citizens.
According to the document, the measures were taken to strengthen the verification of voter citizenship and prohibit “Foreign citizens to interfere with US elections”.
Here’s the changes:
- “The Electoral Assistance Commission will require documentary evidence issued by the US citizenship in its voter registration forms;
- “Agencies such as the Department of Internal Security, Social Security Management and the State Department must provide states access to federal databases to verify the eligibility and citizenship of individuals to vote;
- “o attorney general [chefe do Departamento de Justiça] It will prioritize the voting process of non-citizens and related crimes, including through the use of records of the internal security department and coordination with state attorneys. ”

Praise to Brazil
