A natural remedy that will help prevent ticks in the garden: just sprinkle it on the ground

Did you know that ticks become active when the air temperature reaches just 5 ° C? It is necessary to beware of ticks from early spring to late autumn. If the winters are not cold, these dangerous voroes can also be found during the winter. We will tell you how to get rid of these spotters in your garden.

Nobody wants ticks to settle in their garden or yard, but there is not always the opportunity to plant tick repellent plants here. So what do you do to reduce the likelihood of a tick attack against children or animals playing in the garden? There is a simple and effective way to do it.

Diatomical land can be a real salvation from the tick garden and in the yard. What is it? Diatomitis is a soft rock formed from silica. It can be white and yellowish. It is sold in powder form.

Natural repellent from ticks

Diatomical land is a great natural insecticide and a disinsection agent. Just sprinkle the diatom’s ground in your garden and distribute it with a rake. You can sprinkle vegetation around the terrace and in places where children like to play. Diatomical land discourages ticks, ants, amars, snails, caterpillars and spider mites. It is a kind of protective barrier that can protect plants. This prevents the insect from adding eggs. Sharp edges of diatomitis particles damage the shells and body coatings of some insects. Of course, this component is completely harmless to plants. Rather the opposite: it enriches the earth with silicon.

Effective protection of beds and flower beds

You can also cover the beds in your garden with diatomaceous land to protect the vegetables. This measure is also perfect for flower beds. In fact, it is recommended to use diatomaceous land immediately after sowing. However, do not make the flowers on this land as it can repel bees. The diatomaceous ground should be scattered every time after the rain, as the precipitation washes it.

If you want even more effective protection against ticks, you can combine diatomaceous land with other natural means, such as. Ticks are particularly disliked by the scents of lavender, eucalyptus, lemongrass or tea tree, so you can make a natural spray – mix water with a few drops of these oils and spray the yard, terrace or garden areas. It is also worth a regular mowing lawn because ticks prefer to live in tall and moist grass. By holding the grass with a brief cut and proper maintenance of the area, you will reduce tick habitats and the possibility of spreading them.
