President of the PP expresses support to the former president 1 day after the STF made him defendant for attempted coup in 2022
PP President Senator (PI) published a photo next to (PL) on Thursday (27.mar.2025) in support of the former president.
The post is given 1 day after the 1st class of the Supreme Court (Supreme Court) accepted the complaint of the PGR (Attorney General’s Office), for attempted coup d’état in 2022.
Nogueira participated in a lunch with Bolsonaro and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ). “Our captain’s smile speaks for itself. We are firm, united, totally focused and never giving up Brazil”he wrote.
Bolsonaro Defendant
With the STF’s decision, the former president and allies become defendants, and the Court begins a criminal action that may result in the conviction of the accused to up to 43 years in prison.
The accused respond for crimes involved in the attempt to prevent the elected government of (PT). According to Attorney General Paulo Gonet, Bolsonaro was the leader of the group that planned the coup.

- Violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law – 4 to 8 years in prison;
- Coup of State – 4 to 12 years in prison;
- Integrate armed criminal organization – 3 to 17 years;
- Qualified damage against Union patrimony – 6 months to 3 years; and
- DECMARED OF HERITAGE – 1 to 3 years.
JUDGMENT
The trial referred only to the 1st of the 4 groups of persons denounced by the PGR (Attorney General’s Office) for attempted coup d’état in 2022. This is the central nucleus of the criminal organization, of which, according to investigations, the main decisions and actions of social impact.

- Mauro Cid, former Bolsonaro orders of orders;
- Paulo Sérgio Nogueira, former Minister of Defense; and
- former minister of the Civil House and candidate for vice president in 2022.

Installing the criminal action, the Supreme will have to hear the witnesses indicated by the defenses of all defendants and conduct their own investigation. The parties may request the production of new evidence before the trial of the crimes.
After the steps, the Court opens overlooking the final allegations, when it should ask the PGR to comment on the acquittal or conviction of the accused.
