It is no coincidence that the diagonal – festival of Austrian film has established itself in Graz. In 1977 the Austrian Film Days in Velden am Wörthersee were launched, shortly afterwards they moved to Kapfenberg for four years, after which they were in Wels Upper Austrian Wels until 1996: this time to the state capital, where they became diagonal to the fixed point in the Styrian cultural calendar. On Thursday, the festival will take place this year until April 1. Around 30,000 visitors are attracting year after year, for many of them the trip to spring -like Graz is a welcome change. Everything is easily accessible, the mood is stimulated, and the cafés are just as well filled as the cinemas.
