Minister Bruno Dantas, of the Federal Court of Auditors), criticized on Thursday (27) in an event in Paris the NGO Transparency Brazil, citing it as an example of an institution that positions “more in prejudice than on based analysis”.
He participated in a panel during a conference against corruption
“Unfortunately, some public narratives about corruption are motivated more by prejudice than by based on analysis. Transparency Brazil, for example, recently criticized the secretariat for TCU consensus and dialogue without even interacting with its work – a reaction that looks like ‘I don’t know, and I don’t like it,” said Dantas.
The Secretariat was created in 2023, when Dantas presided over the TCU, with the objective of seeking agreements and mediation in conflicts involving public agents.
At the same time, he established, in his speech at the event, a differentiation of the Brazilian NGO with the world direction of transparency.
“Fortunately, this position contrasts with the opening shown by international transparency, whose leadership has shown a genuine disposition to understand institutional innovations and contribute to advances through constructive dialogue,” he said.
