By 2035, Poland plans to invest 1.9 trillion zloty in defense. General Lukowski believes that defensive potential will increase significantly in the coming years.
According to the head of the Polish Office for National Security (BBN), General Dariusz Lukowski, the head of the Polish Office for Polish Russia, is significantly limited. In an interview with Polsat News, he said that at the current level of stock, Poland would be able to conduct defense struggles for about a week or two in today’s way of wondering the war. The General confirmed that in some areas Poland has ammunition for only a few days, and this applies especially to older types of armaments, to which new combat means are no longer produced. According to him, the new platforms introduced into the Polish army in recent years, as the purchase of armaments and ammunition has been in parallel.
Lukowski pointed out that Poland has significantly contributed to the support of Ukraine, which has exhausted part of its reserves and is currently supplementing them. At the same time, he stressed that assistance to Ukraine is currently provided with caution and after analyzing possible risks to Polish security.
For the modernization of the defense industry, 30 billion zloty (EUR 7.17 billion) should be moved from the newly established security and defense fund from the renewal plan. The Polish defense budget for 2025 is to reach 187 billion zlotys (EUR 45 billion). Lukowski believes that over the next two to three years, Poland will be able to build sufficient defense potential.
According to Deloitte analysis, Poland plans to invest approximately EUR 1.9 trillion (EUR 460 billion) in defense in 2025-35, which is more than twice the spending for 2014-24, reaching EUR 825 billion (EUR 199 billion).
