From Wednesday, the Austrian team joined the disinfection of vehicles coming to Slovakia from Hungary on the border crossing Rusovce – Rajka. Firefighters and members of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic also participate in disinfection. The Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic informed about it on the social network.
On Saturday 22 March, Slovakia activated the European Union mechanism in the field of civil protection and through the CECIS joint information system. “For example, it has applied for special vehicles for the transfer of cattle, but also CBRN decontamination module,” added the Interior Ministry.
DPA reported on Wednesday that Austria decided to help Slovakia to send 52 soldiers with 18 vehicles, including six specials. Austrian Minister of Defense Klaudia Tannerová explained that a unit of the Austrian army is sent to Slovakia to be implemented against the clinker and the Krivaja for the help of disasters (AfDRA).
