The former selection was arrested in January 2023 after paying a bail of 1 million euros, approximately R $ 5.4 million.

The resolution considers that the revoked judgment presented a “series of gaps, inaccuracies, inconsistencies and contradictions of facts, legal assessment and their consequences.” In addition, he added that “of the evidence produced, it cannot be concluded that the standards required by the presumption of innocence have been overcome.”

Thus, the court rejected appeals from the prosecutor who asked for the increase in Daniel Alves’s penalty and ordered the accused’s acquittal. The judges of the case understood that there was “lack of reliability” in the victim’s testimony.
