The hairdresser, which was known as located in front of the headquarters of the (Supreme Court) during the attacks of 2023, said in testimony that it did not invade any building at the time and that “the heat of the situation” caused it to act without full dominion of their mental faculties.
So he asked for forgiveness for the episode that led her to prison and said he will never repeat him again.
The speech of Deborah, 39, took place last November, during an instructional hearing whose recording was attached to the file on Wednesday (26), when the confidentiality of the process was removed by the minister.
At the hearing, Deborah stated that a man she didn’t know had already begun the graffiti of the phrase “lost, Mané” in the statue called “The Justice” and asked for her help. According to her, the man had already thought of the sentence and had already done the letter ‘P’ when he asked her to continue.
“When I came across Brasilia with the movement, I had no idea the good [valor] financial and symbolic of the statue. When I was there I already had a person doing the graffiti. Missed maybe some malice on my part, because he started writing and said: ‘I have the very ugly lyrics, girl, can you help me write?’. And then I kept doing the writing of, “he said, asked by Rafael Henrique Tamai Rocha, auxiliary judge of the Moraes Office.
At the hearing, Deborah described him as a tall white man with the Brazilian flag hanging around his neck, but could not recognize him in photos that were shown.
The hairdresser, arrested since March 17, 2023, states that she did not enter any of the buildings on January 8 and that her presence was restricted to the Praça dos Três Powers, from which the police who had the purpose of removing the invaders, before the formation of the siege, arrived.
She also stated that “the heat of the moment” made her act differently from the person she believes to be.
“I remember that a week before my son asked a coincidentally question about writing in wall and I said ‘this is illegal, this is not done, because it is a visual pollution’, and I did a whole text for him about it, and I do not know what happened to me at that time, the warmth of the situation, of committing this act [a pichação]. I regret a lot, very much, and I would never do it in their right mind. The heat of the moment changed my mental faculties, “he said.
In his reconstitution, Debora stated that she panicked with broken glass and that she left the three powers’ square for fear of getting hurt and that other people were hurting. She then said she returned to the camp in front of the Army headquarters, which she had been since Saturday (7), when she arrived from Campinas (SP).
The hairdresser was a resident of Paulinia (117 km from the capital of São Paulo) and said she paid $ 50 on bus tickets to Brasilia.
In the conclusion of the hearing, Deborah asked for forgiveness to pay attention against the Democratic Rule of Law, said that getting stuck made him see that “the country depends on hierarchies that need to be respected” and said it will never be involved in political demonstrations because it took “a little repulsion.”
“It made me traumatized because it does not represent me, it is not what I am. I am a totally disciplined person, who always followed the law strictly. In my personal accounts, in my social life, I never infringed a law,” he said.
The hairdresser said she has developed anxiety crisis in prison, but is well treated in the prison system and has no complaints. She also said that her children, minors, have had atypical behaviors: the youngest is more closed and the oldest is aggressive and has been bullied. Both receive psychological treatment.
The Federal Police requested Deborah’s arrest in March 2023 because it understood that the loose hairdresser could “cover up the illicit and change the truth about the facts, especially through coercion to witnesses and other agents involved and concealment of data and documents.”
Deborah was denounced by the Attorney General, Paulo Gonet, in May 2024. PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) says that the accused “participated in acts of damage and destruction of goods specially protected by administrative act”.
She is accused of committing crimes against the Democratic Rule of Law and coup d’état under the justification of having acted in a multitudinous form – a concept of criminal law that refers to crimes committed by a rioting multitude.
The PGR understands that, in this type of crime, each person who acted in the attack on the headquarters of the powers had the same goal: to force the Armed Forces to give a coup against Lula’s (PT) management in the Presidency of the Republic.
Following this thesis, Gonet asks Deborah’s conviction not because she wrote in the statue “The Justice” the phrase “lost, Mané”. For the PGR, the sentence would be because the woman participated in the attack on powers and encouraged a democratic rupture.
The first class of the Supreme began on Friday (21) the trial of Deborah. Minister-ruling Alexandre de Moraes voted for the sentence to 14 years in prison, and Flávio Dino accompanied his colleague.
The minister, however, asked for a view (more time to study the case) on Monday (24). During the trial of the coup plot on Wednesday (26), Fux announced that he will suggest a review of the sentence.
“Minister Alexandre, in his work, explained the conduct of each of the people. And I confess that on certain occasions I come across an exacerbated penalty. And that was why, giving satisfaction to you, that I asked view of this case. I want to analyze the context in which this lady was,” he said
For the minister, the legislation defines a great dosimetry for crimes against democracy. But he argues that “the fixation of the penalty is [responsabilidade] from the magistrate.
Deborah eventually became a symbol of pockets in defense for the approval of the bill that grants amnesty to those involved in the acts of January 8.
“Because of a lipstick, a sentence repeated by a minister, it is being sentenced to 14 years. Here we believe, that we can reverse [as condenações] In court, because what seems to be is that there is a political and non-legal movement around the accusations, “said Deputy Luciano Zucco (-RS), the leader of the opposition in the House, after the trial of the scammer plot in the Supreme.
