Earthquakes are frequent in Myanmar compared to. Between 1930 and 1956 there were six vibrations of 7 Richter near the Sagaing rift, which runs the center of the country, reports the AFP news agency, citing USGS.

Thailand is not an earthquake zone and almost all earthquakes that are felt there, which are rare, occur in the neighboring Myanmar.

As buildings in Bangkok are not made for strong earthquakes, the damage could be very large.
