In 2021, Brazil received about 42.5 million vaccines against the Foundation’s Covid-19
The first lady, Janja da Silva, met this Friday (28.mar.2025) with the CEO of Gavi (World Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization), Sania Nishtar. The meeting is part of the first lady’s agenda series in Paris, France, where he participates in the NG4 summit (Nutrition for Growth).
GAVI is a foundation created by US billionaire Bill Gates that brings together the public and private sector to vaccinate children against deadly and debilitating diseases. The organization has agreements with Brazil in the scope of vaccine production, especially 2021, when the country received about 42.5 million vaccines against Covid-19.
In a publication on his Instagram, Janja says the conversation with Sania Nishtar reaffirmed the organization’s partnership with Brazil and “Commitment to public health”.
Janja in Paris
The first lady of Paris on Thursday (27.mar), in an agenda that included a lunch offered by the French first lady, Brigitte Macron. In the afternoon, she accompanied the session “Together to feed the world: mobilization of the private sector for food on a world scale”, with President Emmanuel Macron.
Janja took advantage of the president’s trip to the Asian continent and amended his stay outside Brazil on his way to France. To Japan, the first lady traveled through the FAB (Brazilian Air Force), following Lula’s entourage. For France, Janja used commercial flights.
