Monte Gordo receives gastronomic party with more than 10 international chefs

The west zone of Monte Gordo beach will be the stage of the Holy Meat Festival, an unprecedented gastronomic event that will take place on April 26, and promises to transform the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António into a must -see meeting point for good food, Mediterranean tradition and cooking innovation.

The initiative is part of the “Best Food + Health” project and marks the end of a cycle of activities promoted by the Vila Real de Santo António City Council, with the objective of valuing the Mediterranean diet and reinforcing local gastronomic identity.

The festival will be attended by more than 10 national and international chefs, including names such as Samuel Rosa and Paula Labaki (Brazil), among other prominent figures of the gastronomic panorama, which will perform live demonstrations of firepower techniques such as parrilla, clothesline and cruzeta.

More than a simple barbecue, the Holy Meat Festival celebrates traditional flavors, aromas and techniques, reinterpreted with creativity and innovation.

The program also includes live music, cultural performances, leisure zones and spaces for all ages, creating a festive and familiar environment in one of the most emblematic scenarios of the county.

Admission is cost of 15 euros per person, a value that includes a reusable sustainable kit (plate, cutlery and glass), reflecting the municipality’s commitment to the reduction of waste and the promotion of environmentally responsible practices.

The event has the support of the Hospitality and Tourism School and various local entities, asserting itself as one of the high moments of the region’s cultural and gastronomic agenda.

The Holy Meat Festival ends the “Best Food + Health” project, promoted by the Municipal Health Office of the Vila Real City Council of Santo António, which throughout April dynamizes showcooking sessions in the municipal markets of Vila Nova de Cacela (April 5), Santo António (April 12) and Monte Gordo (April 19).

These actions, devoted to the conviviality between grandparents and grandchildren, reinforce the appreciation of the Mediterranean diet, food education, social inclusion and sharing between generations.

Tickets can be purchased.
