The Portuguese drivers will face another increase in the price of fuels next week, starting on April 1. Both diesel and gasoline will be climbed into prices, aggravating the costs for those depends on the car on a daily basis.
More expensive diesel and gasoline
According to sources of the sector cited by the Club of Portugal (ACP), diesel should increase between 1.5 and 2 cents per liter. Gasoline will be even more penalized, with an increase of 4 cents.
This new increase puts even more pressure on consumers, who already face high prices at supply posts. With the approaching vacation of Easter, the impact on the budget of families may be significant.
Updated values
According to the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), the average price of simple diesel in Portugal was 1.581 euros per liter last Friday, March 21. Simple gasoline 95 cost, on average, 1.71 euros per liter.
If forecasts are confirmed, the price of diesel shall be between 1.596 and 1,601 euros per liter. Simple 95 gasoline can reach 1.75 euros per liter, values that further aggravate the cost of supply.

Comparison with previous months
It recalls that, since August 1, 2024, the price of diesel has increased by 2.1 cents. In the case of gasoline, there was a decrease of 0.6 cents during this period.
However, with this new climb, gasoline is approaching the highest amounts recorded in recent months.
The evolution of prices reflects the oscillations of the international market, where the cost of barrel of oil and the taxes applied to fuel continue to influence the amount paid by Portuguese consumers.
The impact on drivers
Successive increases in the price of fuel have led many drivers to look for alternatives, either by reducing the use of the car, the use of more economical fuels, or the adhesion to discount programs offered by gasolineiras.
With the cost of living on the rise, this increase represents another charge for those who need the car daily. For many, supplying is becoming a luxury, making it even more difficult to manage the monthly budget.
In the coming days, drivers will feel again in their pockets the weight of these climbs, with no short -term relief perspective.
