The financial prosecutor’s Office today requested that a penalty of 7 years in prison be imposed and a fine of 300,000 euros on the former French president for the illegal funding of his election campaign from his Libyan.

Former Sarkozy’s ministers and faithful associates, Claude Ghean and Brice Osthep, the prosecutors requested that six and three -year -old penalties be imposed, on the grounds that they helped to “conclude” a “corruption agreement” with the dictator of Libyan.

Sarkozy, who heard the prosecutor’s prosecutor, “challenges the events and does not seem to understand the seriousness of the offenses. The three financial prosecutors had already asked the Court in their speeches yesterday and Trinos, to judge the former president for all the offenses he has been tried since January 6: Corruption, acceptance of resources embezzled by public funds, illegal funding.

Prosecutors have also requested that his political rights be deprived of Sarkozy for five years.

The former president, referring to a “excessive” penalty, later said in a post on social networking sites that “he will continue to fight for the truth and believe in the wisdom of the court”.
