A 33-story building under construction collapsed this Friday in Bangkok, after an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 that shook Thailand and Myanmar. The earthquake, whose epicenter was recorded in Myanmar, caused significant damage to various structures.
In Bangkok, the collapse of the skyscrapers, which had a crane installed at the top, caused at least three deadly victims and left several people missing under the rubble. Rescue teams were quickly mobilized to the site, where search operations continue to try to locate survivors.
Local authorities are evaluating damage and coordinating efforts to ensure safety in the region, as the earthquake has also affected nearby infrastructures and generated fears of new collapses.
