American vice president of JD Vance on Friday accused Denmark of not doing enough for Greenland’s defense. He did so during his foreign trip to this Danish territory along with other US officials. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.
“Our legacy of Denmark is simple. You have not done a good job for Greenland’s inhabitants. You have not invested enough money in the inhabitants of Greenland and the security architecture of this incredible and beautiful territory,” He said Vance at a press conference at the American Space Base Pitufik in the northwest of Greenland. “It must be changed. Since it has not changed so far, the politics of (American) President (Donald) Trump in Greenland is as it is,” Vance stated.
The US President has been talking about taking control of Greenland for a long time and has not even excluded the use of power. This is often justified by national and international security. According to surveys, most Greenans support independence from Denmark, but do not want to be part of the US.
“I don’t think any military force will be needed. We think it makes sense,” He clarified VANCE in connection with the possible agreement on the administration of Greenland by the United States. In his words, Trump will be able to conclude such an agreement.
