Energy self -production contracts are beginning to attract consumers with smaller and more sprayed loads after racing growth between electrointensive customers, according to Thymos Energia.
In all, the consultancy estimates that self-production will move about 1 gigawatt-medium (GWM) of power in 2025.
Although the demand for large consumers is high, smaller customers are also starting to be interested in this hiring model, says Thymos New Business Manager Jaison Chamberlain.
Sprayed load
“In the market, there is also a movement of generators making some products directed to these more sprayed loads,” he says.
In the self -production model, the client becomes a partner of the power generator and is exempt from some charges, when the option is for the negotiation of renewable energy. It is a solution that helps companies reduce costs and meet environmental appointments.

This option is available in the Free Energy Market, in which the consumer chooses the power supplier. Since January 2024, all consumers of medium and high voltage can enter the Free Market in Brazil.
The opening of the free environment from last year contributed to interest in self -production by smaller customers, with cargo in the house of 10 Mids Megawatts (MWM).

According to Chamberlain, one of the biggest challenges in serving this new consumer profile is the complexity of the hiring model.

“Often, these clients who do not have energy as one of the main operating costs end up distancing themselves a bit of these market concepts and it is a little difficult to bring understanding and bring the confidence of following the structuring of the project,” he says.

Agreement
An agreement in this model takes eight to twelve months to get out of paper, estimates Thymos.
The consultancy saw a strong increase in the demand for structuring self -production agreements at the end of last year, which are reflected in new businesses that are being closed over 2025.
