A 60 -year -old woman was accused of harassing Madeleine McCann’s family, the missing child in 2007 in Portugal, Leicestershire County police said in downtown England.
The suspect, Karen Spragg of Cardiff, in the country of Wales, was accused of persecution between May 3, 2024 and 21 February 2025, reported in the statement the police authorities who conducted the investigation.
The woman should appear at the Leicester Magistrates Court this Friday, along with Julia Wandel, 23-year-old from Lubin, Poland, who is also accused of four harassment crimes against the parents of Madeleine, Kate and Gerry McCann, having allegedly committed crimes between January 2024 and February 2025.
Wandel was arrested on 21 February when he arrived from Poland to Bristol Airport at the request of the Leicestershire Police. The young Polaca gained prominence on the internet in February 2023 when he made an Instagram post using the ‘@iammadeleinemccann’ account and appeared on television programs discussing the possibility of being the child who disappeared at the age of 3.
According to the British media, days before their detention, he used his new account on social networks, ‘@amijuliawandelt’, to share the ‘results’ of an DNA test in which, according to her, the McCann refused to participate.
On May 3, 2007, Madeleine McCann disappeared from the two -year -old somed -sighted apartment in Praia da Luz, while her parents had dinner with friends a few meters away in the Balnear Resort.
In 2020, German police stated as the main suspect of the child’s abduction and murder, but accusations were not formalized.
Madeleine’s case was one of the most media in the world and parents maintain the campaign to proceed investigations to find it.
