Like us, ticks are lurking, bumblebees are fallen on the hens. They are much smaller and numerous, pulling out will not help. However, you have to intervene against them if the hens have to remain healthy. However, prevention is best.

Bumblebee (Dermanyssus hen) is a mite and a difficult outer parasite that can bother the hen very much. They suck their blood and thus weaken them. Birds are less tolerating, losing weight, tired. In the first case, the infected hen or rooster may occur. The same is harmful to a similar bird (Ornithonyssus sylviarum) And both parasites can bite humans.

During the day, bumblebees are hidden in bedding or various cracks, where they lay their eggs. Birds then attack mainly at night. Therefore, during the day you will not see them on poultry, with some exceptional cases. And it is not easy to see the naked eye – it is only possible to recognize the drunk, and therefore up to 1.5 mm large reddish bricks. The bumblebee is then, unlike Čmelík and his larvae, to the victims permanently. You will probably discover it around the cloak, where the victim also has damaged feathers. The hen is very itchy and restless.

Most of our feather birds live in our baths – so bird watering and bangs are so useful. However, birds from dry steppes, where the water is rare, is cleaned in fine dust. It relieves the feathers of dirt, excess grease and destruction and difficult outer parasites. And it is from dry steppes hen originally come. Therefore, with pleasure daily ashes if you allow them. In addition to cleansing and satisfying natural instincts, regular ashes serve as a prevention from attacking bumblebees.

The hens can catch them from wild birds. But the bumblebee does not have to get into the chicken coop at all if the hen gets rid of him before returning home.

The hens are able to dig up the dusts in which they will find fine dust, but in rainy weather or winter will not help them much. Therefore, prepare them for a covered ash, and fill it with a wooden ash with the admixture of quartz, which is against the bumblebees an excellent natural remedy.

Cure

The dwelling for hens is worth storing in cleanliness. The big advantage is the interior of the chicken coop without joints and a crevice where they could hide the mites. If you have a wooden chicken coop and there are cracks in the boards, you can interpret it from the inside, for example, with soolite plates and the remaining joints. Such an interior, as well as thunderstates, is sufficient to wash with acetic water in prevention. There are also silica -based preparations that can paint walls and thunderstorms and make them unsuitable for bumblebees.

Bedding

In the summer, when the hen spends all the time outside, there is no bedding in the chicken coop, except for the egg laying nest, necessary. When the hens in the evening come, they still swing on the horn. However, in winter it is needed – it contributes to thermal comfort and entertains the hen. The most commonly used is a clean, dry straw, which is then enriched with droppings. It needs to be changed regularly. However, you can also use dried leaves, and preferably from a walnut. Thanks to the disinfectant substances, bumblebees do not like to hide in it, so it contributes to the prevention of attack.

You can also use a wooden ash. If you sprinkle the bottom of the chicken coop, it can absorb excess moisture and odor as a bottom layer. And while the hen does not indicate the humid air, the bumblebees do not – the drying is always beneficial. Thanks to the ash layer, the chicken floor is more easily cleaned, the droppings are not adhered to it.

How to intervene against bumblebees?

Parasites multiply very quickly. If the prevention was insufficient and the hens were attacked and the coop of infestation occur, the whole space must be perfectly cleaned. For chicken coats that do not provide crevices, bumblebees often stay on the underside of the perish and bedding during the day, so you can easily remove them.

For the first time you can use vinegar, then spray the entire space with the designated acaricides or preparations based on quartz. Only let the hen inside when everything dries perfectly. And before that, ideally treat them – either with insecticidal products to do so, or again use natural quartz – either thoroughly rub it into feathers up to the skin, or let it thoroughly.

Tips and prevention

Silica In the form of perfectly fine dust, it works really reliably against bumblebees, while it is a purely natural and harmless means. In addition to the addition to the ashtray, you can also add it to the laying nests, or sprinkle it with thunderstorms. The bumblebees get stuck in it and dry.

Natural remedies are also available as herb extractsthat you add to the water for drinking. They have a preventive effect against attacking the parasites – while they benefit the hens, they do not like the bumblebees, and therefore do not attract them with herbs smelling hens.
