A driver was arrested after playing his truck against a PRF base () on the BR-060 highway, in Recanto das Emas, in the Federal District. Upon being approached, the driver said he took the attitude for political reasons, in protest for what has been happening to the former president (PL).

According to the PRF, the suspect, identified as Marcio Pinheiro Saldanha, returned to Sao Paulo after a delivery in Brasilia when intentionally collided against the corporation’s operational unit.

The man was arrested in the act for drunkenness, active corruption and attempted murder, as well as being under investigation for a possible crime of terrorism. He was referred to the Federal Police for appropriate procedures.
According to the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Ricardo Lewandowski, the Federal Police have already established an investigation to investigate the case and clarify the driver’s real intentions. He said that so far there is evidence that it was an isolated act, initially discarding the reinforcement of security.
“We are prepared for any fact that may occur and, of course, our police, especially federal police, are integrated with state, district police and even municipal guards, all ready for any emergency. There is no special prepared scheme; we know that the Supreme Court has reinforced its security for this trial,” he said.
