Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said on Friday that the government does not intend to change the current design of the tax framework, based on primary result goal and spending limit.

In an event promoted by Arko Advice, in São Paulo, Haddad stated that the government will maintain the course of economic policy, seeking the fulfillment of fiscal goals and without “exotic” measures for electoral purpose.

“This is the way, we will not invent anything. It is not from President Lula’s shape to invent anything exotic for electoral reasons,” he said.

At the event, he said that Brazil could grow close to the world average without generating inflationary pressures.

Without giving details, the minister said that “when making super recessive adjustment” this ends up harming his own public debt, defending “moderation” on the way to resume positive primary results.
