This Friday (28), Leila Pereira, president of Palmeiras, talked to the press about Abel Ferreira to take charge of the Brazilian team after the resignation of Dorival Júnior. The manager said she did not receive contact from Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the CBF.

“Ednaldo never came to talk to me to talk about this, so I can’t be charging, isn’t it? When I have something in this regard, I’ll talk to you again,” said Leila during the Paulista Football Federation party.

“At no time has President Ednaldo sought me to ask about Abel. Abel continues with us, he has contact until the end of the year, and we go ahead,” he added.

The coach occurred on Friday (28), three days after the suffering to Argentina, in Buenos Aires. Abel Ferreira has been one of the fans to take office.

Leila also talked about Ednaldo Rodrigues as president of CBF, who was the sole candidate for the election and had unanimous support of the 27 federations and all clubs in series A and B.

“We support, yes. President Ednaldo. I think that, to have long-term work, one needs continuity. What I cry a lot is for the union of clubs, because sometimes a lot of responsibility is put on top of the president, but we do not do our part on our side, as leaders,” he said.

“President Ednaldo gives a lot of strength to the League formation. And this league has not yet been formed due to the lack of union between the clubs, but I have great hope that we, the clubs, get this union,” he added.

“I also have no doubt that President Ednaldo will support the formation of this league, and that is what I think. We support, Palmeiras supported, and we will continue alongside the president collaborating with what is within our reach,” he said.
