The Prime Minister of, reaffirmed the country’s willingness to act militarily in Lebanese territory against any threat in a statement issued on Friday (28). “Anyone who has not yet understood the new situation in Lebanon today had another example of our determination,” said the Israeli leader the prime minister said that “the equation has changed” and that Israel will no longer tolerate even sporadic attacks against their settlements. “What happened before October 7th will not be repeated,” he said.
Israel launched an attack on Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, for the first time since the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah was agreed in November. Associated Press reporters at the scene heard a tall bang and witnessed smoke from the region that the Israeli army had promised to attack. Netanyahu pointed out that the goal is to ensure the safe return of residents of northern Israel, who had to leave the region due to attacks by the Lebanese group Hezbollah. “We will continue to impose tightly the cessation of hostilities and ensure that all our citizens in the north return to their homes safely,” he concluded.
