Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul asked on Sunday the Supreme Court of the State to prevent the billionaire Elon Musk To deliver checks of $ 1 million to two voters, a request that came hours before the ally of planning the donation in a night rally.
Two lower courts have already rejected Kaul’s legal challenge, which argues that Musk’s offer violates a state law that prohibits anything of value in exchange for a vote.
“Wisconsin’s law prohibits to offer anything of value to induce someone to vote,” he argued in his presentation. “However, Elon Musk did just that,” he added.
The strongly disputed election of the Supreme Court of Wisconsin will be on Tuesday. Liberals currently have a majority of four to three. But five of the seven court judges endorsed a candidate in the race, increasing potential conflicts for them to hear the musk process.
