Former soccer player Daniel Alves may receive compensation from Spain’s court after having his sentence for rape on Friday (28.mar.2025), according to Spanish judge José Antonio Vázquez Taín.

Former Paris Saint Germain may receive up to € 11,000 for the 14 months in which he was arrested preventively, accused of attacking a woman in a Barcelona nightclub in 2022.

He can claim more (money). If the claim may be estimated is another issue”Said the magistrate in an interview with the channel Telecinco.

Unanimously, the Catalonia Superior Court of Justice revoked the penalty of 4 years and 6 months in prison of the athlete. The Court assessed that the victim’s witness has “evaluative deficiencies that prevent the sharing of the evaluation of the lower court and the conclusion to which it arrives”.

Daniel Alves was arrested in January 2023 and spent more than a year detained while awaiting trial. It achieved the condition of provisional freedom after it pays € 1 million. The player may also recover the amount with the revocation of the conviction.
