Plane travel has become an increasingly popular means of transport over the years. During the flights, many passengers take the opportunity to rest or sleep. But did you know that there is a specific side of the plane that offers the most advantages to better rest? Learn now more in this article.
According to expert Anton Radchenko, CEO of Airadvisor – a startup that helps passengers claim compensation to airlines – quoted by the airplane side can significantly influence comfort during the trip, especially for those who like to sleep.
More comfortable places to sleep
Radchenko points the left -hand armchairs as the most comfortable to rest. “The left side usually offers more space for head support than the right, due to the location of the windows,” he says.
The difference occurs due to the position of the aircraft door, which causes the left -hand seats to be slightly misaligned. This misalignment provides more space for those who prefer to reserve places by the window.

Advantages of choosing the place at the window
The seats by the window are usually the most sought after by passengers who want to rest, as they allow to use the plane wall as a head support. On the left side, the windows tend to be positioned a little further, providing more comfort.
Also, choosing a place at the window helps to avoid interruptions during sleep, as it is not necessary to get up to pass other passengers. It also reduces contact with others, reducing the risk of virus contamination.
Boeing study proves less risk of contamination
Radchenko cites a study funded by Boeing in 2018, which demonstrated that passengers sitting by the window are 80% less likely to contract viruses from other passengers than those sitting in the corridor.
The research revealed that corridor passengers have an average of 64 contacts with others during the flight, while passengers by the window have only 12 contacts.
