Five young people died and one baby was injured after a serious accident on BR-373, near the Chopinzinho access clover, in southwestern Paraná, around 5:30 am on Sunday (30). The accident involved a frontal collision between a car and a truck, leaving the victims at the scene. According to the Fire Department, the truck driver reported that he was towards Pato Branco when the car, which was heading in the opposite direction, broke into the opposite lane on a corner. Despite trying to divert, the driver could not avoid the collision. He has not been injured.
In the car were six people, including five young people aged 14 to 19. Everyone died on the spot with the impact. A baby, in one of the victims, was injured. The child, an estimated age between one and two years, according to police reports, was awake and crying when rescuers arrived. She was referred to the Pato Branco hospital with minor injuries.
Federal Highway Police (PRF) teams, Civil Police and Scientific Police were at the scene to investigate the causes of the accident.
