Israeli authorities have released five Palestinian prisoners on Sunday that have delivered five Palestinian prisoners in the border passage of Kerem Shalom, on the border of the Gaza Strip.
The prisoners have arrived at the European Hospital of Jan Yunis after entering the Palestinian enclave with “Symptoms of fatigue, torture and extreme exhaustion”according to the Palestinian news agency Sanad.
The released prisoners are Iyhad Muhamad Qudaí, Sami Wasfi Abú Anza, Tariq Jalil Labad, Rami Muhamad al Halabi and Muhamad Said Al Qassas. The disseminated images show two of the prisoners with long beards and visibly demacred, as well as a vehicle with the badges of the International Red Cross Committee (ICRC), so it could be a release made with the mediation of this international body, an extreme that could not be confirmed.
Palestinian authorities and humanitarian organizations estimate that Israel retains more than 9,500 Palestinian prisoners in their prisonsincluding more than 350 minors, 22 women and 3,405 prisoners in administrative detention, which allows in practice its indefinite imprisonment without presenting positions.
