The acts, organized by the Planet Over Profit environmentalist group, criticize the influence of the entrepreneur and his recent appointment to the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), created by President Donald Trump to cut state expenses and combat fraud.
In Manhattan, between 500 and 1,000 people participated in the protest, asking for the departure of Musk from the organ. “Stopping Musk will help save lives and protect our democracy,” said the organizing group.
The demonstration attracted participants such as 70 -year -old psychologist Amy Neifeld, who said she did not go to the streets since the Vietnam War. “Musk is leading the United States to fascism,” he said. Hudson Fisher, Blog editor Trust Cafehe highlighted his concern with the power of the entrepreneur. “He has more money and influence than governments. Without control, this is dangerous,” he said.
In addition to New York, protests also occurred in Washington, where about 150 people participated in a festive mood. Tesla did not comment on the demonstrations. In recent weeks, acts of vandalism against Tesla have intensified. On Thursday (27), a man was arrested in Las Vegas on suspicion of burning and shooting five vehicles of the brand. He can catch up to 20 years in prison. The Trump government has classified attacks as “domestic terrorism.”
