The federal government authorizes a readjustment of up to 5.06% in the price of medicines from this Monday (31), throughout the country, according to resolution published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOU). The decision is from the Chamber of Regulation of the Medicines Market (CMED), an interministerial body responsible for regulating the segment.

The increase rate corresponds to inflation measured by the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) in 12 months closed in February. According to the act, the readjustment will follow three ranges, according to the therapeutic class of medicines: the level 1 medicine, may have a maximum increase of 5.06%; level 2 will follow the rate of 3.83%; and the level 3, 2.60%.
Remedy price adjustment is annual. In 2024, the values readjustment ceiling was 4.5%.
“Companies with drug registration should give wide advertising to the prices of their products, through publications in specialized media of large circulation, and may not be higher than prices published by CMED on the Anvisa Portal (National Health Surveillance Agency),” the resolution.
