Explosion in coal mine leaves 9 injured and arrested on the spot, says newspaper

An explosion in a coal mine in the region of Asturias, northern Spain, on Monday (31) left at least nine people injured and several prey, said the newspaper El Mundo.

Emergency regional services confirmed that they received an explosion report in a mine in Degana and that three helicopters and two ambulances were sent to the scene, but the spokesman could not confirm that there were people stuck inside.

At least three people were injured, the spokesman added.
