Older accusations date back to 1979. Al-Fayed died in August 2023
Five women accusing Mohamed Al-Fayed of sexual assault will present a civil proceedings to obtain compensation from the deceased Harrods owner of the deceased Harrods store, a law firm announced.
“The letters of claim were sent in the name of five women who worked as AMAs and onboard hosts to Al-Fayed between 1995 and 2012,” wrote Leigh Day.
This action is “the first formal step” in a legal compensation procedure, specifies the office, in a statement. The alleged victims also ask for the opening of a public inquiry.
According to the statement, women were employees of the private airline Fayair (billionaire property) or other companies belonging to the al-Fayed clan and were victims of “severe sexual violence, harassment and abuse.”
The statement also speaks of “verbal violence” and “threats” without revealing further details.
“We took this measure on behalf of our clients who were victims of violence at the hands of Al-Fayed as they worked for him or their other business outside Harrods,” said lawyer Richard Meeran, quoted in the statement.
“It is important that its estate is also legally responsible for the widespread abuse that [Al-Fayed] He perpetrated against people who may never have had any kind of relationship with the famous store, “added Meeran.
In November, London police said a total of 90 women accused Mohamed Al-Fayed of sexual assault and violation.
The London police stressed that several of these new complaints reported “multiple crimes” without specifying which and without providing details about the profile of the victims.
Asked by the complaints about conducting the investigations, the Londrina police also said they were investigating “a number of individuals who were close” from the Egyptian businessman.
According to the British media, at least five people are in the sights of investigators.
Ensuring that “all reasonable investigation lines are being followed,” police said they have already analyzed more than 50,000 test pages, including numerous previous statements.
Testimonies against Mohamed Al-Fayed have multiplied since the transmission in September of a BBC British broadcaster that reported multiple accusations of violation and sexual assault allegedly committed by the Egyptian businessman, who died in August 2023 at the age of 94.

The attacks lasted over 30 years until 2013. Mohamed Al-Fayed was never the target of lawsuits during his life, but was arrested by police in 2013.
